California Bicycle and Pedestrian Accident Lawsuit Success Stories
The following is a brief list of interesting verdicts and settlements which the law office of CSF&W has obtained on behalf of their clients.
$2.8 million – Settlement for a woman injured by a newspaper delivery person when struck while crossing a street in a crosswalk. The newspaper company conceded the delivery person was an employee and not an independent contractor at the time of the accident.

Settlement for a school teacher who suffered a brain injury while walking with her four year old son when a parent dropping off her child accidently pressed the accelerator in her car rather than the brake. The car then struck a fence post which in turn struck the client causing her head injury.

Settlement against the County of Santa Cruz for an avid bicyclist injured on a county maintained road when he hit a bump in the road which ejected him from his bike causing him severe injuries. The County failed to fix the road even after it received complaints of prior accident at the same location.
$200,000 – Settlement for a bicyclist injured on the U.C. Santa Cruz meadow trail. A bicyclist travelling uphill popped a “wheelie” and lost control of his bicycle causing him to go into the downhill lane of travel. The plaintiff was coming downhill and was unable to avoid a collision. Plaintiff suffered severe injuries and had to be airlifted from the scene.
$70,000 – Settlement for a bicyclist injured when a U.C. Santa Cruz work truck made an illegal u-turn striking plaintiff as she was travelling down Natural Bridges St. in a bike lane.
